University of Stirling

Founded in 1967, Scotland's first new university in 400 years. Strong history of innovation and excellence. Designated Scotland's University for Sporting Excellence in 2008. The first UK University to introduce a two semester system. Beautiful 125.5-hectare (310-acre) campus boasting a loch and an 18th-century castle situated less than an hour away from Edinburgh and Glasgow. The historic and lively city of Stirling is only a ten minute bus ride from the campus and the university encourages and supports students and staff to user greener methods of transport. The University aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 38% by 2020.

The campus has been described by the police as one of the safest in Britain and has a strong community feel. The city of Stirling was judged as having the best student living experience in the UK (National Student Housing Survey 2010 awards). As of September 2014, the University funded a corporate subscription with Nextbike which allows students use of bikes on Campus and around the Stirling area, as well as any other Nextbike locations throughout the UK. If you do not obtain the grades the University has asked for, we will review it again, paying particular attention to the personal statement, reference and past academic performance. You may, therefore, still be offered a place despite not having achieved the exact conditions required. Offers will normally be made on a basis equal to three A-levels, although all applications will be considered individually and offers may be given with less.
