In fewer than 50 years, Leeds Trinity University has transformed itself from two small Catholic teaching training colleges to an acclaimed university with an excellent track record for launching the careers of thousands of students.
While maintaining a reputation for excellence in the training of teachers, Leeds Trinity University has diversified to offer Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees in a range of subjects including Business, Education, Humanities, Media, Psychology and Sport. The University also has a long-established reputation for being one of the leading providers of journalism training in the country.
Leeds Trinity University pioneered the inclusion of professional work placements with every undergraduate degree, and they remain an integral, assessed part of every degree. This means that all of its students graduate with degree-related work experience, and as a result, 94% of its graduates are working or studying six months after graduating according to the latest statistics from the HESA Destination of Leavers Survey.
Leeds Trinity is located in Horsforth, just a short train or bus journey from Leeds city centre. Travel times from the city centre are 20 minutes by car, 30 minutes by bus, and 10 minutes by train. Leeds is about two hours from London by train, and by car there's easy access to the A1, M1 and M62. The University operates a free shuttle bus service to all campus users and visitors which connects the University to Horsforth Railway Station and the amenities of Horsforth. The shuttle operates weekdays during term time. At Leeds Trinity, all facilities, including accommodation, lecture theatres, classrooms, student support services, dining, and sports facilities are located on a green, leafy campus with amazing views over the suburbs of Horsforth and Cookridge.
Leeds Trinity University offers courses across the following academic departments: Business, Management and Marketing; the Institute of Childhood and Education; Humanities; Journalism; Media, Film and Culture; Psychology, and Sport, Health and Nutrition. All our HEFCE-funded undergraduate courses have a study abroad option. Our students are taught by highly-qualified and experienced staff, many of whom have extensive professional experience outside of the University.
The most recent National Student Survey (NSS) results revealed that the percentage of students satisfied with their course at Leeds Trinity University had increased to 88, against a national average of 86. In particular, the NSS revealed that Leeds Trinity University is ranked 8th out of all higher education institutions for Assessment and Feedback, with 81% of recent graduates declaring their satisfaction against a sector average of 72%. Many of our courses are accredited by professional bodies, including NCTJ, BPS, AfN and BJTC. Professional work placements are included with every degree and students benefit from the University's relationships with 1000s of employers.
